Sample looks good....okay, let's do it!

Ordered from Monadnock Flooring in Keene, NH mid-December.

It begins 5:50 am Saturday morning 1/7/12.

Rosin paper goes down first.

1st row must be STRAIGHT...

1st row IN 8:21am, that took a while...

Time to rock and roll.

9:40 5 rows in...break time, then we have to starting moving stuff around again.

So far so good, where is the next piece?

This is going to be a long weekend :)

Hello Sunday 1/8/12 and hello new floor :)

We begin 9:10 am and we are about 1/2 done, but today will go slower, cutting around floor outlets and the hearth...we'll see!

The joints are all over the place, too many small pieces. Lots of character though, which we like.

4:45 we made it to the front of the hearth! At this point, we also resolve that we are going to get this DONE, so I can return the floornailer tomorrow on my way to work :)

Well, no paying side jobs!

Our new addition, just no time. Hope to get back into it, once things settle down. For now, I (Bud) am doing all the finish work on our new space.

There they are! Full extension slides, 5 piece drawer fronts.

The best part is that I (Sandy) get to fill this cabinet up!

Fun Halloween Project

While there weren't any custom cabinetry projects in the works, I decided to make this for Halloween. Made from plywood, each piece hand-painted before assembly. The girls loved it, Sandy....not so much, but it did grow on her! This will be in our front yard for many Halloween's to come.

Knot Burr Puzzle

My newest project, the 3 piece knot burr puzzle. 3 pieces, one maple, one cherry, and one walnut. Carefully sanded and finished with Danish Oil. Selling them on ebay, check it out!
Following a pattern (of course) I cut out the pieces needed, glued them up into the 3 shapes. Table saw, radial arm saw and planer were all needed.

Careful sanding is next, and a test fit, just to be sure. Then comes the finish, we chose Watco Danish Oil, other finishes can be applied by request.

So, no cabinetry or furniture to show you today...Buddy's been working outside...

The ground behind the pool wall settled significantly. So much so, that Bud was able to remove 4 rows! It's really going to look nice I think.

Cleaning up around the area, the rocks are brought down for the stone wall. Tractor REALLY helps with this project!

Mahogany Display Cabinet

Built for my Dad. Mahogany solid wood fronts, sides and top with glass inserts. Plywood back and sides and dove tail drawer boxes.

Hand crafted as a surprise gift (I tend to do that quite often).

4 DEEP drawers that fully extend across the bottom. This cabinet holds an extensive Christmas Village!

Buddy makes furniture...

This all started as Buddy was going to build me a couple of "hooks" to hang a very pretty horse tray thing on our wall. I should have known better!

WELL, when he came up stairs with these hand crafted mahogany brackets, I said "that's furniture, what are we going to hang off of those"? Buddy laughed, but when we held up the brackets and set the tray in it, the tray was dwarfed! So, that didn't happen. After much discussion, this is the end result, one each displaying my show bridles :).

Precision Pools did the pool install, I did the rest. Dug and installed the retaining wall, block by block by block. Reconfigured and added on to the existing deck AND built the pump house. Custom designed cherry kitchen cabinetry in a full inset style. Clear sealer will allow the cherry wood to deepen naturally over time.

46" wide, including the top, 18" deep and 24" tall, solid cherry fronts, raised panels and piano hinge...

Raised panel sides, ofcourse...

See the detail? Natural cherry wood will redden and deepen in color over time becoming even more beautiful.

I've made 4 of these hope chests so far...and would like to make more!

same design as the cherry hope chest, this was built for a friend as a house warming gift.

great as a blanket chest at the end of the bed...that's were I put mine. Piano hinge and lid stays in an antique finish.

Clear sealer, inside and out. This will deepen in color in time becoming even more beautiful.

Raised panels, front, left and right...bottom rails straight to the floor (like furniture).
